Pillow firmness depends on filling composition, weight and the shell. Feather size and shaft characteristics matter to handle and containment. A down-rich outer chamber and a supportive inner filling are different design questions and should be specified separately.
Composition and loft considerations
Choose the feather/down blend through comfort trials rather than importing a jacket specification. Fill power can be relevant to a blend but does not replace support, migration and finished-pillow evaluation.

Testing and destination-market requirements
Identify the destination market and exact standard edition. EN, JIS, USA-2000, KS, GB/T, QB/T and CNS requirements can be discussed. Material testing and finished-product testing serve different purposes; neither should be assumed to cover the other.

Pillow dimensions, chamber structure, firmness target, ticking, fill weight, washing needs and hospitality or retail use.
- Required species, color and composition definition.
- Laboratory method and acceptance criteria, if available.
- Estimated quantity, requested delivery date and documentation requirements.
- A specification sheet or approved reference sample.
Qualify a sample before scaling
Assess the proposed filling in the actual construction. Record the approved material lot and test results, and agree how future lots will be accepted. Sample policy, lead time and packaging require confirmation.
