Separate the questions your policy is asking
A recycled claim concerns material origin and relevant custody requirements. An animal-welfare claim addresses another issue. Chemical safety, workplace practices and environmental impact require their own evidence. Combining these into one broad ethical label can hide important gaps.
Recycled certification and RDS are different
The Responsible Down Standard addresses animal welfare in the down supply chain. It should not be presented as proof of recycled content. Likewise, a recycled-content claim should not be stretched into an unsupported claim about the complete original history of a recovered product.
Ask answerable questions

Use proportionate public language
State what is demonstrated, identify the scope and avoid absolute claims such as zero environmental impact. If a lifecycle comparison is unavailable, describe the recovery and reuse activity without inventing a carbon reduction. Buyers should review claim wording against their evidence and destination-market requirements before publication.
